Why Kernivo freezes credits before settling a video generation
How credit freeze, settle, and release protect users when an AI provider fails or times out.
AI video generation can fail for reasons outside the user's control: provider queue errors, callback delays, moderation failures, or temporary network issues.
That is why Kernivo uses a credit lifecycle instead of deducting credits blindly.
Freeze
When you submit a generation, the required credits are reserved. This prevents overspending while the provider is working.
Settle
Credits are settled only after a completed video is available. The generation result and the credit transaction stay connected.
Release
If the task fails, the reserved credits are returned. This keeps failed provider work from becoming a hidden user cost.
What users should watch
Before submitting, check the cost card in the generator. It shows the estimated credits for the selected model, length, and resolution. Reference media inputs are included in the clip cost unless the pricing card says otherwise.
